Pour Me Out 02:57
You don’t need a voice to talk to yourself Or to read the books stocked in your bookshelf Last night I saw a stupid tearjerker when looking in the mirror my eyes seemed even emptier. My room feels like the moon but that’s ok Cause from here the world is far away Do you exist? I don’t know Everything seems so long ago I have nothing more than memories in my head The past is an alien planet I’m filled with tears Languishing in doubt Can you pour me out?

Written by Phil Elverum it's raining on me, i don't want it to stop i don't want to breathe anymore i want soggy ground, i want to feel my feet in the sand i want water to rise and to cover all the land i want to swim til my arms give out and i come to an end i hope it happens soon i can't deal with feeling this bad i want to be cold and i want it to snow so bad i hope your flames don't grow i want to be buried in snow i hope your flames don't grow i just want to be cold i don't want you to know

about

From his upcoming album 'Thoughts too Thick to Think', Sleath shares a first track ‘Pour Me Out’. The song tackles the feeling of being alienated from one's own memories. The B side contains a calm version of the rather noisy Microphones song ‘I Want to be Cold’. This was an attempt to find out how a piano would sound like in acoustic Sleath songs. Satisfied with the result he also added a piano line in Pour Me Out.

From the world of his bedroom Sleath is scowling down through the window. During this unusual december month he longs to layers of snow instead of the depressing drizzle. Still holding on to his lo-fi aesthetics and the spontanious recording methods, his words are pushed to the background and his emotions are translated through the rattling strings of his guitar.

Early Christmas wishes & enjoy listening.

"De productionele keuzes die Sleath maakt liggen niet voor de hand. Hij ontwijkt de geijkte paden met de hardnekkigheid van een ultraloper en komt zo uit in een eigen universum, met eigen definities van schoonheid." -Musiczine-
